Material

Floral fabrics from Springs Hope Chest collection

• 3 – 4 ½ inch squares cream fabric (A)
• 3 – 5 ¼ inch squares floral fabric (B)
• 6 – 4 7/8 inch square cream fabric (C)
• 4 – 2 inch x 8 ½ inch floral fabric (D)
• 2 – 2 inch x 30 ½ inch floral fabric (E)
• 2 – 4 ½ inch x 11 ½ inch cream (border)
• 2 – 4 ½ inch x 38 ½ inch cream (border)
• 1 – cone of Star Multi-Color Hand Quilting Thread (V41)
  color 865 Baby Pastels
• 1 – cone of Star “Lite” (V44) color 256 Natural
• Safety pins
• Batting
• Floral binding 2 ½ inches wide

Cutting

• Cut 5 ¼ inch square (b) on the diagonal twice
• Cut 4 7/8 inch square (C) on the diagonal once

Directions

All seams ¼ inch

1. Using Star “Lite”, sew quarter squares floral triangles (B) to sides of cream square (A). Press seams
   
2. Sew half squares cream triangles (C) to sides of squares created in step (1). Press seams and square to 8 ½ inches.
   
3. Sew 2 inch x 8 ½ inch floral fabric rectangles (D) top and bottom to finished squares create in step (2). Press seams.
   
4. Sew the 2 inch x 30 ½ inch floral rectangles on the sides of the finished blocks cr eated in step (3). Press seams.
   
5. Sew 4 ½ inch x 11 ½ inch cream boarder to top and bottom. Press seams.
   
6. Sew 4 ½ inch x 38 ½ inch cream to sides. Press seams.
   
7. Layer top, batting and backing – Pin together.
   
8. Quilt with Star Multi-color hand quilting thread. Quilting pattern from stencils.
   
9. Square up quilt and trim away excess batting & backing.
   
10. Press binding on top of quilt and hand stitch.
    
11. Sew binding on top of quilt and hand stitch.

Note: Quilting will reduce the overall size of the quilt.
